Incident summary

From Thu Nov 30th 10pm CET to Fri Dec 1st 0:50AM filstation.app was unreachable because of a certificate error. Webflow wasn’t able to regenerate the certificate because of the way Cloudflare’s DNS records were set up. The quick fix was to disable the Cloudflare proxy, which allowed Webflow to issue updated certificates, and restore operation.

Afterwards, the instructions from blog post https://createtoday.io/posts/cloudflare-webflow were followed to reenable Cloudflare’s proxy, while only implementing SSL on the Cloudflare layer, not relying on Webflow’s SSL support.

Impact

The website was unreachable for 3h+.

  • We will continue to follow best practices for the Webflow & Cloudflare integration
